Gnocchi

      1 turn on your microwave set it for exactly 8 minutes.      

2 put your potato in the microwave and               Equipment
wait for the microwave to stop. chopping board 
Potato masher
3 carefully peel the potato or rip of pot
Potato peeler   
    4 Mash your potato in another pot. Microwave                   
   And put ½ cups of flour in and crack a knife
         Egg in the pot and mix with your hands.
      5 roll your mix into a long long and cut
Squares then fork the aka leave a fork mark in them.

6 boil a pot on your stove. Once it's boiled
drop your squares in and take them out
 when they float to the top.
7 this is optional put pasta sauce on your
 gnocchi Enjoy.

Playdoh procedure

      Ingredients                                       1    Get a bowl the bowl is better microwave safe.
                                                                2      First put ½ cups of salt into your bowl.
  • bowl                                             3    Next use the same measuring cup to put ½ cups of
  • Water                                                 flour into your bowl and  mix.
  • Measuring cups                                     4    After that ½ tspn of oil into your bowl
  • Measuring spoon                                                 5  Put about 5 drops of food colouring                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Into your mixture
  • Food colouring (optional)               and mix 6  half a cup of water is the last thing you need now
                                                                     Knead it with your hands until all of the wet mixture
      ingredients                                           comes of your palms.

Park Trip

On the 28th of March (on a Tuesday) Room 14 went to Handley Reserve aka the local Park let me do a recount. First we put on our shoes and ran out the door. Then we walked out the gates, all the way to the park. We talked a lot it was very loud and people kept tripping over my shoes. Finally we got to the park.

We walked in the gates of Handley Reserve, when we got there all of us went off and played for a while. The first and only thing I did were the swings because I wasn’t really interested in the slides or the big jungle gym. People were taking photos that you can see on Room 14s blog under the photos tab.

Now sadly we then had to leave the park. Awww I said in my head. Everyone rushed to put on their shoes. Then we went out of the gates and walked back to school. And continued the day.

Welcome Back!!!

Welcome back to school i'm in Room 14. My teacher is Mrs Davenport. In the holidays I did nothing, it wasn't fun. This is my 3rd time in Room 14. Anyway were learning about cricket, Maori and were doing lots of art. We have stars and a red carpet on our windows come an check them out.

Spinning tops


                      How to make a spinning top

Materials       Equipment

bottle cap        drill               
felts                 pencil                 
cardboard        scissors                 
skewer                       

Method


First trace around the bottle cap on a bit of cardboard with a pencil.

Then cut out with scissors.
Next you colour it in.

Third put a hole in the centre of the cardboard and bottle top.

After put the cardboard cut out in bottle cap.

Lastly put the skewer through each hole.

Finally you play and have fun.   ;)

Suitable for children 5 and up.
Get help from a adult for drilling and putting in the skewer.

Gym Blog Post

YAY we're going to gym again like we have been for the last 3 weeks. When we get there we do a warm up for about half an hour then we get into the rotations. The rotations are air track, the trampoline and the beams. My favourite part of gym is bouncing on the air track and jumping on the huge trampoline. At the end we did an awesome activity with a parachute we lifted it up and played sharks and lifeguards.

Reading activity

Over the last two weeks we have been reading a 
book called Trapped in the Snow. Its about a boy and his family that went tramping on a mountain.

Jamie and his family started their long journey up the mountain. About 30 minutes later they had lunch on the menu was filled rolls.  The family thought they were superb. After lunch Jamie needed to be careful as he twisted his ankle on the rocks.  Finally they got to Balloon hut. 
They woke up to heavy snow so they were trapped in the hut until they were rescued. Luckily they packed raincoats,pants and jackets.  Also they had to ration every bit of food they had. Going out to the toilet they had to watch out for all the snow and frozen ice.

Reflection T2W10

What: Last week went to a production at WHS about snow white and the 7 dwarfs. We also did a interesting water experiment that took a few days to complete. and last of all we did assembly practice because my class is hosting whole school assembly i'm so exited.

So what: Last week I learnt how to do a water experiment.

Now what. Last week my goal was to get better at maths equations I think I have achieved the because now i'm in group 4 for maths rotations. My new goal is to focus on my writing.

Week 9 Reflection

What: Last week some students from Rutherford came and gave us a performance, practicing for their production . We had our first night time  Puanga celebration with  cool activities. Our technology was  based on Puanga and Matariki. My group made paper stars.

  So what: Last week I learnt how to make paper stars. 

 Now what:  Last week my goal was to get more work done in time. I think I have achieved this because mostly everything's green on the learning tasks. My new goal is to  get better at maths equations.

Reflection T2W7

What: Last week I created and finished a Toondoo with Maori farewells. We did our technology groups my group was sewing headphone bags. We did a sheet of basic facts I got 56 out of 60.

So what: Last week I learnt how to make a Toondoo.

Now what: Last week my goal was to get work done in time I think I have achieved this because nearly all my work is green on the learning tasks. My new goal is to put more detail in my work.

Straw challange

Yesterday me and 3 other people made a structure out of straws and blue tac. We made a pyramid. my teams structure stood up half the time because it had the same amount of support on each side. But it didn't have enough blue tac, so it fell down.

Reflection T2W4

What: Last week my class got a surprise visit from City Collage. There was a huge thunder storm that scared the heck out of me. We made really neat pictures of what we were scared of from the shared book we read.

So what: Last week I learnt how scary thunder is.
